Mission Statement
The Wood Green Red Door Family Shelter provides safe and supportive emergency housing to individuals and families in need of refuge from domestic violence and to those who find themselves without accommodation. The Red Door assists residents in their efforts to establish a stable life outside the shelter through education, counseling, community services and advocacy on their behalf.
Many people can find themselves in desperate need. These include women who have experienced violence at home, as well as families who get evicted, are refugees, elderly or a young mother who may have nowhere to go. The people who use these services are moms with children; followed by intact families, and dads with children.

To Joanna and Tanya, I enjoyed the day! At first I wasn’t sure if I would last 13 hours but the speakers were very interesting and I learned a lot. I know that I will be making many changes to the way I approach things and make better decisions in the future. Thank you very much for this experience. DH
Thank you for the invitation! I learned a lot about myself and also how to let go of the past and hope for the future. May God bless you all for the wonderful work you do to help people like me. Love, AA
Thank you very much for the invitation to Diva Day! It was an amazing day. I felt empowered; I had fun and I felt good about myself. Please do it again! Thanks, D.
Thank you for the wise words, it is my hope that they will be useful tools for my future. I realized that as women, regardless of cultures or backgrounds, we have the same fears and hopes. It takes courage to share with us like you did. Thank you, T.
